Know Your Customer

Know Your Customer – KYC enables bank to know/ understand their customers and their financial dealings to be able to serve them better and prudently.

The Bank before opening any type of account will carry out due diligence as required under “Know Your Customer” (KYC) guidelines issued by RBI and or such other norms or procedures adopted by the Bank.

Features Documents
Account of Individual:
Legal Name 1) Passport.
2) PAN card.
3) Voter’s Identity Card.
4) Driving licence.
5) The letter issued by UIDAI containing details of name, address and Aadhaar number .
6) ID card issued by Central/State Government.
7) ID cards of reputed Public Sector Undertaking/Enterprise.
8) Pension Payment Orders with photo issued to the retired employees by Central/State Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings.
9) Photo identity cards issued to bonafide students by a University, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and/or an Institute approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). or any Central/State Education Board or Government Agency.
10) Photo identity issued by any public authority having proper record of issuance of identity proof which is verifiable from records.
11) Bar Council/Medical Council of India/ICAI/ICWAI/ICSI Card with photograph.
12) Defence Dependent’s Card with photograph.
13) Ex-Servicemen Card with photograph.
14) Arms License issued by State / Central Government of India.
15) Married woman identity proof with maiden name, if supported with a verified true copy of marriage certificate
16) Registered Property document with photo identity.
17) Disability ID card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations.
18) NREGA Job Card duly signed by an officer of the State Government can be accepted as an officially valid document for opening of bank accounts without the limitations applicable to “Small Accounts”.
Account of Individual:
Correct permanent address – Address proof
1) Electricity Bill - not older than 3 months.
2) Driving Licence. (Valid)
3) Bank account statement - not older than 3 months.
4) Letter from employer (to the satisfaction of the Bank).
5) Credit Card Statement - not older than 3 months
6) Letter from Public Sector employer on letterhead.
7) Letter from any recognized public authority having proper and verifiable record of issuance of such certificates.
8) Voter ID Card (only if it contains the current address).
9) Copies of Registered License agreement/Sale Deed/ Lease/Rent Agreement.
10) Certificate and also proof of residence, incorporating local address as well as permanent address, issued by the Hostel Warden of the University/Institute/ School, where the student resides, duly countersigned by the Registrar /Dean/ Principal of University/Collage/School . Such accounts shall however, be required to be closed on completion of education/leaving the University/Institute provided the constituent does not give any other acceptable proof of residence to the Bank.
11) Latest telephone bills from any telephone service providers and mobile service providers not more than 2 month old, post paid.
12) Consumer gas connection card/book/Pipe gas bill.
13) Court divorce order – Marriage annulment order issued by a Court of law.
14) Water bill (not older than 3 months).
15) Property Tax receipt showing address of property - not older than 3 months.
16) Any person including a student residing with relatives, address proof of relatives, along with their identity proof, can also be accepted provided declaration is given by the relative that such a person/ student is related to him/her and is staying with him/her.
Note:
1) If the address provided by the account holder is the same as mentioned in the Adhaar letter, it may be accepted as a proof of both identity and address. If however, the address indicated in the documents submitted for identity proof differs from the current address mentioned in the account opening form, a separate proof of address should be obtained.
2) Close relatives e.g. wife, son, daughter and parents, etc who live with their husband, father / mother and son, as the case may be should be allowed to open an account on the basis of utility bills (required for the verification of address) of a relative with whom the prospective customer is living, along with a declaration from the relative that the said person is a relative and is staying with him/her
3) In case the proof of address furnished by the customer is not the local address or address where the customer is currently residing, branch may take a declaration of the local address on which all correspondence will be made by them with the customer. No proof is required to be submitted for such address for the purpose of correspondence. This address may be verified by the bank through ‘positive confirmation’ such as acknowledgment of receipt of (i) letters, cheque books (ii) telephonic conversation, (iii) visits etc. In the event of change in this address due to relocation or any other reason/s, customers may intimate the new address for correspondence to the branch within two weeks of such a change.
Accounts of Proprietorship Concerns:
KYC of Proprietor
Proof of name , address and activity of the concern.
1) Registration certificate (in the case of a registered concern)
2) Certificate / licence issued by the Municipal authorities under Shop & Establishment Act,
3) Sales and income tax returns
4) Certificate/registration document issued by VAT/Service Tax / Professional Tax authorities
5) Licence issued by the Registering authority like Certificate of Practice issued by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Indian Medical Council, Food and Drug Control Authorities, registration / licensing document issued in the name of the proprietary concern by the Central Government or State Government Authority / Department.
6) Complete Income Tax return(not just the acknowledgement) in the name of the sole Proprietor where the firm’s income is reflected, duly authenticated/ acknowledged by the Income Tax Authorities.
7) Utility bills such as Electricity, Water and landline Telephone bills in the name of the proprietary concern.
8) Any two of the above documents would suffice. These documents should be in the name of the proprietary concern.
9) Copy of PAN card.
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
Account of Limited Liability Partnership:
KYC of Partners authorised to operate the account
Proof of name , address and activity of the concern.
1) Certified copy of incorporation documents filed with Registrar of Companies.
2) Certificate of registration issued by the Registrar of Companies.
3) Copy of LLP Agreement signed by all the partners. In case, there is no LLP agreement, Schedule I of the LLP Act signed by all the partners will prevail.
4) Copy of PAN card.
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
Account of Partnership Firm:
KYC of Partners authorised to operate the account
1) Registration certificate of Partnership firm, if registered
2) Partnership deed
3) Power of Attorney granted to a partner or an employee of the firm to transact business on its behalf
4) Any officially valid document identifying the partners and the persons holding the Power of Attorney and their addresses
5) Telephone/ Water/Electricity bill in the name of firm.
6) Copy of PAN card.
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
Account of Trust and Foundations:
KYC of authorised person(s) to operate the account
1) Certificate of registration, if registered
2) Authorisation granted to officials to transact business on its behalf
3) Any officially valid document to identify the trustees, settlors, beneficiaries and those holding Power of Attorney, founders / managers/ directors and their addresses
4) Resolution passed by managing body of the Foundation /Association regarding opening an account with our bank and authorised operators to transact business on its behalf.
5) Telephone bill.
6) Copy of PAN card.
7) Copy of Bye Laws
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
Account of companies:
KYC of authorised person(s) to operate the account
1) Certificate of incorporation and Memorandum & Articles of Association.
2) Resolution of the Board of Directors to open an account and identification of those who have authority to operate the account.
3) Resolution passed by BOD in its meeting regarding opening an account with our bank and authorised operators to transact business on its behalf.
4) Copy of PAN allotment letter.
5) Copy of the telephone bill.
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
Account of Societies :
KYC of Office Bearers / Authorised Signatory.
All are mandatory documents (Proof of Existence):
1) Proof of registration with Regulatory Authority
2) Duly certified copy of By-laws/Rules.
3) Resolution regarding permission for opening of account with our bank and also showing the Authorized Signatories, passed by the Managing Committee.
4) list of managing committee and Office bearers along with address.
5) Copy of PAN Card
6) Copy of Utility bill
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
Accounts of HUF:
KYC of Karta
Both are mandatory
1) Declaration regarding co-parceners in prescribed HUF form.
2) PAN in the name of HUF
Must be completed in the same way as in the case of Accounts of individuals.
